The
exhibition presents various aspects of the everyday life of ancient
Romans and the barbaric peoples inhabiting the territories north
of the Roman border, including the Sarmatians, the Vandals, the
Goths and the Balts.
The exposition was
created by the Archaeological Museum in Biskupin. The wide range
of exhibits has been obtained from a number of Polish institutions
and museums, including the Poznań Archaeological Museum and
the Debreczyn Déri Museum in Hungary. The exhibition is accompanied
by numerous boards with commentaries richly illustrated with
photographs and by reconstructions, including fragments of a
Roman room, a Roman road, the Hadrian Wall, Vandal huts and
a barrow of the Balts.
